Raynor Tool Services specialises in new tool manufacture and CNC regrinding.

Raynor Tools began regrinding and sharpening cutting tools in 1981. Initially, the business focussed on servicing the needs of manufacturers in and around Shropshire and Staffordshire.

As the company grew, our geographical reach increased and we started working with clients based in the West Midlands, East Midlands and Merseyside.

On a regular basis we visit clients to collect worn tools and return restored tools. Typically, we offer a weekly turn-around service: returning recovered tools one week after collection. Urgently needed tools are returned sooner if possible by carrier.

Our milling cutter regrinding and sharpening service is operating very successfully and the high percentage of repeat business proves the methods we adopt achieve the savings customers are looking for.

CNC tool grinding equipment

In 1998 we purchased our first CNC tool grinding machine from Strausak, Switzerland. Its installation allowed us to achieve new levels of quality and consistency particularly in the regrinding and sharpening of carbide milling cutters and drills.

Installation of a Walter Helitronic Power CNC machine in 2004 enabled the company to competitively manufacture tools and we now specialise in supplying small batches, up to 5 off, with very short lead times. Our priority is to achieve short lead times and we do not tie up our machines with long production runs.

A further Walter Helitronic CNC tool grinding machine, with automatic loader was installed in 2010. Our third Walter Helitronic Power machine completed our line up in March 2015.

In addition to the Walter CNC machines we have purchased two new Deckel S11 form grinding machines. These incredibly versatile machines have camera optics with magnification upto 170:1, these machines allow efficient one off form tool manufacture or regrinding. We can draw in house or take your 1:1 DXF drawing file and rapidly grind that exact form onto the tool.
